Lonely Thrush

Lonely thrush,
Why sing you not
Your song of joy?
Why sit you lonely upon your pedestal?
Why for when it rains
And never promises to stop,
Do you still sit solitary?
Why when all around
Have sought out shelter,
Do you choose
To brave the storm?
And why when chance
Sends love your way,
Do you turn away
And fly?
And fly away in hopeless form
From the true desire
Of thine heart?
And why then, when finally
You do return,
To find true love
Has up and left,
Do you question
Why and where
She's gone?
When you know its you
Who loves her best.
